1. Local Client-Side Processing Architecture

When you drag, drop, paste, or select an image file on Tocompress, all image decoding, resizing, color quantization, and format encoding tasks occur exclusively inside your web browser’s local memory sandbox.

We utilize WebAssembly (WASM) modules compiled from open-source codecs (MozJPEG, OxiPNG, pngquant, WebP) running in dedicated client Web Workers. At no point during the compression workflow are your image bytes or file metadata transmitted over the internet to our servers or any third party.

2. Data Collection and Analytics

We do not collect personal identifying information (PII), we do not require account registration, and we do not track or log the names, dimensions, or contents of your processed images.

3. Local Browser Storage & Caching

Tocompress uses standard browser storage mechanisms—specifically Service Workers and IndexedDB—solely for technical application functionality:

Caching static website assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for fast loading.
Caching compiled WebAssembly codec binaries so tools work offline without re-downloading modules.

No personal image files or user identifiers are permanently stored in your browser database.

4. Third-Party Advertising & Cookies

To support the free operation of this website, Tocompress displays advertisements served by Google AdSense on designated editorial and guide pages.
